8th Grade Boys Idaho Prep Champions

The 8th Grade Boys team won the Idaho Prep Championship! They went 4-0 in the tournament that included a hard fought Championship game with a good Utah Pump-n-Run squad. As this was this groups last tournament of the season, I was graciously proud of how the boys fought throughout the tournament and season. They were tough, hard nosed and stuck together through adversity all year. I will miss all you guys and "Thanks" for the great year. You should be proud of what you accomplished this year! Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!
8th Boys win the JV championship in the Idaho Prep Tournament!

Congratulations to the Hoop Dreams 8th Boys for winning the JV championship in the Idaho Prep Tournament! The team went 4-0 including a hard fought, intense match up against Boise Flite in the semi-finals. Each player contributed throughout the weekend as the Dreamers showed great toughness competing and succeeding against older players. Well done Dreamers! Next up is the Inland Empire Championships April 16-18 in Spokane...Good luck Dreamers!

Coach Info
Ed Boyce

As a basketball coach over the past 23 years spanning junior high to the collegiate level, Ed Boyce’s mission has remained consistent – true success lies in helping to build the future of others.
From his initial season in 1985 at Fife High School leading the freshman boys basketball team to a 10 – 0 record after the previous season in which that same team, as 8th graders, were winless. Ed also led Decatur High School to a top 25 national ranking in USA Today. The one constant theme has been his ability to inspire people to dream big.
As a player Ed Boyce carried out this same “no limits” attitude by receiving an invitation to an NBA training camp after being cut from his high school team. Ed Boyce played collegiately at Pacific Lutheran University graduating magna cum laude in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Education. His most fulfilling achievement was being named an NAIA Academic All-American.
Perhaps his most dramatic example of providing hope to those around him came in 1990. As head coach he led White River High School to a 15 – 9 record and the second round of the District playoffs in one year after. The school posted a 6 – 54 record over the previous 3 seasons combined, including 0 – 20 in the season prior to Ed’s arrival.
Following a successful run as the head basketball coach at Decatur High School in Federal Way, Washington where he led his team to 4 consecutive state tournament appearances (the school had never been to a state tournament in it’s 17 year history), Ed spent 7 years coaching at Boise State University as the Associate Head Coach.
Following his experience at Boise State University, Ed Boyce co-founded the Hoop Dreams Basketball Club where he is currently instilling hope in hundreds of kids. |
