Some of our Hoop Dreams parents shared our Hoop Dreams Basketball Club across the globe. Beth Rebholtz (Mother of Hoop Dreams athletes Megan and Rob) and Suzanne Hughes (Mother of Hoop Dreams athlete Charlie) recently traveled to Centocow, South Africa with a non-profit group called Small Village Foundation.
They visited preschools where many of the children are orphaned and raised by older siblings. Their primary mission consisted of working at preschools in an effort to improve the facilities through cleaning and painting. In addition, they handed out school supplies, hand sanitizer, scales, and first aid kits. They also spent time in Durban, South Africa at “Keep a Child Alive” where children and their parents are tested for HIV and provided the necessary medications. They also handed out supplies and performed service work there.
During their time in South Africa, they handed out Hoop Dreams T-shirts to local students and children. Thank you Beth and Suzanne for your commitment to making our world a better place and for allowing Hoop Dreams Basketball Club to share in this great mission!

HOOP DREAMS & SPECIAL OLYMPICS JOIN FORCES
The Hoop Dreams 7th Grade Boys team volunteered their time by officiating in the Idaho Special Olympics State Qualifying Games on Saturday, May 30 at Timberline High School.
Our players learned a great deal from their interaction with the Olympians and in the end, helped to make the experience memorable for these wonderful athletes.
